Privacy policy
LOCALQ is operated by MHride Ltd, Medicine Hat, Alberta ("we"). This policy covers the customer app, the contractor app and this website. Questions: support@mhride.ca.
What we collect
- Account: your phone number, and the name and email you choose to give.
- Bookings: addresses, job details, notes and photos you add, chat messages, reviews, and support requests.
- Payments: our payment processor holds your card. We keep the brand, last four digits and expiry, and never the full number.
- Contractors: business and vehicle details, identity, insurance and registration documents, payout email, and your location while you are online or on a job.
- Proof of work: the video or photos a contractor records at a job, with time and location.
- Device: a notification token, if you allow notifications, plus app version and network address for security and rate limits.
Text messages
We text a one-time sign-in code to the number you enter, only when you ask for one. These are not marketing messages. Message and data rates may apply.
How we use it
To run bookings, match customers and contractors, take and refund payments, pay contractors, settle disputes and chargebacks, prevent fraud, give support, and meet legal and tax duties.
Who else sees it
A contractor sees the job address and your first name once they have the job, and not before. A customer sees the contractor's name, business and vehicle. We do not sell personal information. These companies process data for us: Amazon Web Services (hosting and file storage), MongoDB Atlas (database), Twilio (sign-in codes), Stripe (payments), Google (address search, and notifications through Firebase). Some of them store data outside Canada, including in the United States.
How long we keep it

Your choices
You can see and correct your details in the app, turn off notifications and location on your phone, and delete your account. To ask for a copy of your information, or to make a privacy complaint, write to us at the address above. Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act applies, and you may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app.
